Fire snails are one of the rarest snail species in the world. They can be exclusively found in the diameter of 100 km in a very specific tropical mountainous forest in Malaysia, at altitudes exceeding 1,000 m. They do not require much to survive and remain (be)happy. They differ from all other snails primarily in color. Their appearance characterized by its black shell and a bright red foot is what makes them highly attractive in appearance.

This artwork shows two fire snails, a female and a male, whose shells incorporate the logarithmic spiral, i.e. Fibonacci sequence. In addition, if you take a closer look, you will notice that the female snail leaves behind a recognizable footprint the same way as every other woman in a man’s real life journey.

I am Viktorija Janić, a visual artist, human being with a creative mind who not only enjoys her work - I passionately love what I do. I love to unique creative passion. I dedicated the second half of my life to creating work of art on a two or three-dimensional surface using various tools, paper, glue, paint and my own hands, while creating something that can evoke an emotional response or can stimulate the observer's intellect, or it could be both.
